The chain, in brief

Robinhood Chain is a permissionless, EVM compatible network built on Arbitrum technology, using ETH for gas, with block times around 100ms and native smart accounts. It brought tokenized stocks, ETFs and regulated digital dollars like USDG onto open rails that run around the clock, and processed more than 17 million transactions in its first week.

Independent, and clear about it

Willow is built on Robinhood Chain. Willow is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Robinhood Markets, Inc. Robinhood Chain is a public, permissionless network, which means anyone can build on it without approval. Building on the chain does not make us partners with the company, and we will never imply otherwise.

Complementary, not competitive

Robinhood's card and banking products serve customers in their home market. Stock Tokens, the assets that live on Robinhood Chain, are held by an international audience across 100+ countries. Willow picks up where those products' reach ends: everyday spending for the chain's global holders, so going onchain never means giving up the real world. We extend the ecosystem to the people outside its footprint.

How this helps the ecosystem

Every balance Willow makes spendable is a reason to hold assets on Robinhood Chain rather than cash out of it. A spend layer increases the chain's retention and utility. We are additive to the ecosystem, and we compete on execution rather than on access.

The honest version of platform risk

Robinhood operates the chain's sequencing and upgrade path and could one day ship native spending features. We would rather say that here than have you discover it later. Our answer is focus and speed: serving international users a US regulated card product structurally cannot, with a rewards mechanic native to self custody that a custodial incumbent cannot easily replicate.
